Baby Car Seats

The seat is not negotiable. The price is.

A car seat is the one buy on the list with a law behind it, and the same seat can sit at very different prices across town. See what every retailer charges today, and what it charged when we last looked, before you buckle anything in.

How to buy a car seat in Australia

Every child restraint sold in Australia has to meet the same AS/NZS 1754 standard, so the safety mark is settled before you shop and the difference between shops is the price. 48 of the car seats we track are sold by two or more retailers, and the widest gap in the baby car seats tracker right now is $110: the Infasecure Achieve More sits $589 at its cheapest stockist and $699 at its dearest. Checking that spread before you buy is the whole point of this page.

The falls are worth catching too. Across the 20 price drops we have recorded and then re-checked, the typical fall is $50 and the largest is $350. On a seat your child rides in every day for years, that is real money back.

A was-price is the retailer’s own claim about its own pricing, so we always say whose it is, and we never rank a page by discount. Every price here carries the date we checked it, because a dated price is honest and a “live” price we cannot guarantee is not.
